Sam and I purchased Moss Cottage back in 1995.
The house was not really in a fit state to live in as the
property had only been half renovated. The photo below shows the
new extension (with red tiles) and the original property (the
grey tiles). The current owner was living in a couple of rooms
at the end of the property. There was not central heat, running
water, bathroom or kitchen. Suffice to say we didn't move in
immediatly.

The land on which "Moss Cottage" now stands was originally part
of a plot extending as far as where "The Myrtles" is now.
This land came under an
1812 Act of Parliament,
an act for the enclosure of waste or heath land. Large pieces of
waste or derelict land were allowed to be fenced in.
